Latest NewsDisplaying posts 1 - 5 of 8 Craft & Design Projects - all S4 pupils are reminded to bring in their model money asap. Projects can then be taken home. Any projects not paid for by June will be disposed of. Wednesday 13th May, 2009 Craft work display - A display of Higher and Standard Grade craftwork is on in the Technical Dept design room. Parents and pupils are welcome to view the display over the next week. If you cannot get in to view the models please look at the images loaded here which show views of some of the exhibits. Monday 9th March, 2009 Institute of Structural Engineers Young Technologist Comp. Last Thursday several teams of young engineers from Langholm and Hawick took part in a competition to design and create a vertical launcher. Intermediate and Advanced Teams had to include a parachute and a launch vehicle. After several hours of competition Hawick won the Basic section whilst Langholm won both the Intermediate and the Advanced sections. Thanks to Langholm Rotary Club for their help and the Institute of Structural Engineers who provided our three judges for the day. Monday 16th June, 2008 Engineering Competition - The Build a Bridge Comp sponsored by the Institute of Structural Engineers and the Rotary Club was won by the Advanced team of Kelly Little, Kayleigh Scott, Jordan Maxwell and Ben Foster. Regional Finals will take place in March 2009. Wednesday 7th May, 2008 D&G College Competition - A 26 strong team of S3 pupils will head off for D&G College in Dumfries this Friday hoping to retain the Annual Schools Challenge Cup. Our pupils will be taking part in various events including journalism, construction, hair & beauty, photography and business practice. |
