S2 French end of course Writing Assessment
Friday 12 May

You must write three sentences on EACH of the following topics:
Your family
Your town or region
Your school
Your leisure activities

Simple senmtences written accurately will gain no more than a satisfactory mark (because that's what you are expected to be able to do). Extended sentences using more than one clause linked with conjunctions (et, mais, parce que) will help push marks up. The more you write and the more accurately you write, the higher the mark.

15 points are allocated as follows:

15 = Very good
12 = Good
9 = Satisfactory
6 = Unsatisfactory
3 = Poor
0 = No redeeming feature

You should try to speak well enough to be understood by a French speaker. The more you say and the better you say it will determine your mark.

Tuesday 24th February, 2009
Due to disruption caused by the recent ski trip, bad weather, staff and pupil absences, it has been decided to postpone the French Speaking tests for two weeks. They will now take place during the week beginning Monday 9th March, enabling us to clear the way for the prelims starting during the following week and for which pupils will need to learn by heart their Writing task.

Letters to this effect will be sent home.
